Interested in knowing first-hand the functioning of the ACPUA and the virtualities of the University System of Aragon, our Agency has been honoured last 8th and 9th September with the visit of Dr. Miguel Ángel Tamayo, General Coordinator of the CIIES, Inter-institutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education in Mexico. Among other duties, the CIIES, which enjoy public recognition and funding, are the evaluating body for half of the accreditations of the university degrees that apply for accreditation in Mexico and have earned international prestige, becoming part of Ibero-American networks such as SIACES.
On the 8th, Miguel Ángel Tamayo explained the legal framework and the system of accreditation of teaching in Mexico to the technical teams of the ACPUA and the Vice-rectorate of Academic Policy of the University of Zaragoza, in an event chaired by the Vice-rector José Ángel Castellanos. The following day, 9th September, the General Coordinator of the CIIES visited the ACPUA and analysed with Antonio Serrano, director, the current state of quality assurance in higher education in America and Europe, both exploring promising ways for joint cooperation.
