The Aragon Agency for Quality Assurance and Strategic Foresight in Higher Education (ACPUA) will hold the seminar ‘Student Participation in higher education quality assurance’ on 29 September 2026, in a virtual format. This event is aimed at students, teaching staff, quality agencies and, more generally, anyone interested in improving higher education.
The aim of this event is to provide practical and accessible information on the various ways in which students can contribute to improving the functioning and quality of Aragon’s universities, highlighting the fundamental role of students in quality assurance processes.
The session will feature student representatives from the two universities within the University System of Aragon. María Torres, a student representative from San Jorge University, will share her experience of forms of student participation in quality assurance at that institution, whilst Santiago Puyol, president of the Students’ Council at the University of Zaragoza, will present the mechanisms for representation and participation in place at the public university in Aragon. In addition, Ana Isabel Ortega, technical coordinator at ACPUA, will outline the contribution of students as evaluators in university quality assessment and accreditation processes.
The seminar will be opened by Cristina Rodríguez Coarasa, director of ACPUA, and the event will conclude with a session for debate and the exchange of experiences amongst participants.
Through this initiative, ACPUA continues to encourage the active participation of stakeholders in university quality processes and to promote compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), as well as its commitment to the 2030 Agenda, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
