General Assembly of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA)

The Management of ACPUA, as a member and signatory of CoARA Agrement and the Spanish National Chapter, has taken part this morning in the second general assembly of the year of the CoARA group. The meeting, held virtually, brought together 277 members who received information from the Coalition's General Secretariat on the progress of the Coalition in its first two years of existence.

Among other aspects to be highlighted; the profile of the members signing the CoARA Agreement was reported, informing those present that the country with the highest participation is Spain with 66 members; 11 countries have formalised and started their activity through their National Chapters and more than 70 dissemination actions have been carried out to inform the different agents and society in general of the Coalition's goals and lines of work.

During the session, the coordinators of the 11 existing Working Groups presented individually the composition, aims and work plan for the next two years. The groups are open to all members who wish to participate in any of the existing lines of action or in any new ones they wish to raise.

On the agenda of today's Assembly, the main interest was focus on the election by ballot of the members of the Board of Directors. The majority voting process has been made online for the last twenty days and at the meeting itself, through two parallel voting systems supervised by independent international observers.
