International Webinar: Reimagining Quality Assurance in the "New Normal"

On 17th of March, ACPUA attended the webinar organised by INQAAHE and co-organised by ANQAHE, the international network and Arabic network, both related to quality assurance in higher education. At this webinar, followed by more than 40 countries, four communications were presented.

First, Dr. Wafa Almansoori, Director of International Research and Assessment at the American University of Bahrain, highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure and training for the improvement of the presencial and virtual campus, listing the challenges for future.

Next, Mr Ahmed Ali, Director of International Digital Enrollment at EdPlus at Arizona State University, which had 65,000 online students in 2019, presented the technological solutions that enhance the quality of university degrees in relation to improving teaching as well as students social life.

Thirdly, Dr Bethany Simunich is the director of Research and Innovation at the educational non-profit organization, Quality Matters (QM). Through her focus on student centred learning, she explained the fundamental factors for the design on quality online training.

And finally, Dr. Jenny Walker, Consultant to the CEO of Oman's national quality assurance agency, representing 40 institutions, shared the values of adapting to online learning and the characteristics and criteria of international standards.
