On September 23, the Technical Coordinator of ACPUA participated in a working session organized by ANECA at its headquarters in Madrid. The aim of the meeting was to delve into the main updates to the DOCENTIA programme and to strengthen coordination among evaluation agencies.
The day began at 10:30 a.m. with a welcome coffee and reception, followed by an opening address by the ANECA Directorate.
Throughout the morning, key topics were discussed, including the general context and current status of the programme, as well as the main updates introduced in the new DOCENTIA Guide, presented by ANECA’s technical team. The session also clarified the roles of panel members and evaluation commission members, and examined critical aspects of the evaluation process across its various phases: verification, implementation, certification, monitoring, and renewal.
After lunch at ANECA’s facilities, the afternoon session continued with a presentation by Eduardo García (University of Seville), who shared insights on the orderly transition from a summative model to a progressive one in teaching evaluation.
The afternoon session focused on practical aspects of the evaluation process, including how to assess dossiers in line with the changes introduced in the Guide. An open discussion was held between evaluators and agencies to address frequently asked questions. Finally, upcoming outreach activities aimed at universities were discussed, and it was agreed to hold a future meeting of the agencies' commission to design these initiatives. The session concluded at 5:30 p.m
ACPUA values this meeting very positively, as it reinforces collaborative work among agencies and contributes to the continuous improvement of the DOCENTIA programme—an essential tool for recognizing and enhancing teaching quality in the university system.
