On 2 June, ACPUA took part in a meeting of ECA, the European Consortium for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, which was held in Stockholm. The agenda for the meeting outlined the content of the seminar, as well as the matters to be discussed at the organisation’s General Assembly.
In the first part of the meeting, following a welcome address by the Director of the Swedish University Quality Agency (UKA), a presentation was given on research quality assessment; a study carried out by the Swedish agency as part of a European project.
In the second part, the presentation entitled: “Language? Let’s talk about it”, focused on the challenges faced by some countries due to the coexistence of different dialects and how this affects university inclusion and agency evaluations. Furthermore, there was a discussion on students’ knowledge of English and how this affects their participation in different types of projects.
At the General Assembly, various matters were approved: the agenda, the 2025 annual report, the proposed budget for 2026 and proposed membership fees, the definition and joint discussion of upcoming activities and plans, the extension of the coordinator’s contract, and the appointments and resignations of members of the Finance Committee and the Organising Committee.
