ACPUA has participated in the international event “Future Proofing Accreditation, Standards and Education” organised by the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), organisation associated to UNESCO.
The main aim of the seminar, which brought together organisations from all over the world that are involved in the accreditation and certification of both academic programmes and faculties within the higher education sector, was to underline the need to integrate specific standards regarding sustainability issues around governance, academic programmes and research into protocols for the certification of quality assurance systems.
Agency representatives, Andy Tunnicliffe, international expert and ACPUA collaborator, together with Isaac Galobardes, Director of the Quality Assurance Agency for Andorra (AQUA), presented the results of the “Proposal of indicators to embed the Sustainable Development Goals into Institutional Quality Assessment” project jointly undertaken.
ACPUA also had the opportunity to present their ALCAEUS programme for the certification of university faculties and schools for their commitment to the SDGs, and also their new Programme for the Renewal of Institutional Accreditation which now includes specific standards on sustainability.
