The Aragon Agency for University Quality and Prospective Studies (ACPUA) has successfully passed the specific external review carried out by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). The international panel responsible for the evaluation has concluded that the ACPUA complies with all the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), thereby reaffirming its institutional strength and the quality of its procedures.
The review, carried out between April 2025 and March 2026, included an on-site visit by the panel of experts between 25 and 27 November 2025. During this process, the experts conducted an in-depth analysis of the agency’s operations, its methodologies, stakeholder engagement and the development of its procedures since the last full evaluation in 2020.
Full compliance with European standards
The report highlights that ACPUA complies with all the ESG standards assessed, including those that had been the subject of specific comments in the previous review. In particular, the expert panel confirms that the agency has fully resolved the issue regarding student participation in evaluation panels, as set out in ESG standard 2.4 “Peer Review Experts”.
Furthermore, the panel validates the suitability of the updated methodologies in the agency’s new or updated processes, such as:
- Institutional accreditation renewal
- Certification SDG/2030 Agenda (ALCAEUS Programme),
- PACE-SIGC (IQAS certification),
and confirms that the criteria, reports and procedures are applied in a consistent and transparent manner.
Recognition of the agency’s work
The report highlights the professionalism of the ACPUA team, the clarity of its protocols, the active involvement of stakeholders and its focus on continuous improvement. It also emphasises the agency’s ability to adapt to regulatory and strategic changes, as well as its commitment to a culture of quality within the University System of Aragon.
A further step towards renewal with EQAR
The results of this specific review will serve as the basis for the new application for registration in the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR), whose current validity extends until 30 June 2026, as well as for the ENQA Committee’s decision on the renewal of its full membership.
