ACPUA attended yesterday the webinar organised by the international network INQAAHE entitled "Global Trends in Quality Assurance", assessing whether higher education is prepared to adopt changing paradigms and diverse modes of learning.
The session was chaired by Vicki Stott, President of INQAAHE and Chief Executive of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) in the United Kingdom. There were excellent international speakers (Dr Susanna Karakhanyan from the United Arab Emirates and Prof Kevin Kinser from the United States, with Prof Francesc Pedró from Spain apologising for his absence), who are shaping the legacy of quality control and promoting innovation in higher education.
Some trends were outlined to better understand how historical knowledge, political realities and implementation prospects can contribute to a sustainable future for quality assurance, mainly through the publication "Global Trends in Quality Assurance in Higher Education", a research project carried out every five years that analyses trends in tertiary education systems worldwide.
ACPUA, as a member aligned with INQQAHE's GGPs (Guidelines and Good Practices), participates in these training sessions to learn from international experiences that will help it improve the Aragonese University System (SUA), which is its main purpose.
