ACPUA attended the webinar organised by the international network INQAAHE entitled "Quality Assurance and Sustainable Agenda", highlighting the interest in the development of the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda in the institutions of the international higher education area.
Some speakers from Taiwan, Andorra, Malaysia and France, moderated by INQAAHE Board Director Fabrizio Trifiro, presented several perspectives on the inclusion of sustainability in educational programmes related to qualifications, quality assurance, higher education rankings and measurement, and the role of engineering professionals, among other aspects.
Diverse questions were raised in the debate: "we cannot impose, but we can share good practices", "we can motivate professionals committed to global society and sustainability to get out of the higher education institution", "should you get a better job if you have studied in an institution with the SDG seal?”
ACPUA, since 2015, is part of the United Nations Global Compact and in recent years has developed a pioneering Protocol for the evaluation of higher education centres in relation to the compliance of the SDGs. This Protocol, called ALCAEUS and indexed in the session by the director of AQUA (agency with which work on this matter began in 2018), is currently integrated into the DEQAR database.
