ACPUA updates its degree and institutional evaluation protocols

13/10/2026

The Evaluation, Certification and Accreditation Committee (CECA) of ACPUA, at its meeting of 28 September 2026, approved the update of several of the Agency’s evaluation, certification and accreditation programmes and protocols.

The revisions affect the following documents:

  • Degree and Master’s Programme Verification Programme.
  • Official Degree and Master’s Programme Monitoring Programme.
  • Degree and Master’s Programme Accreditation Renewal Programme.
  • PACE-SIQA Programme for the certification of Internal Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Institutional Accreditation Renewal Programme for Higher Education Centres.
  • Procedure for Initial Institutional Accreditation of Higher Education Centres.

These revisions respond to the need to adapt ACPUA’s procedures to recent developments in the Spanish higher education regulatory framework, particularly those arising from Royal Decree 905/2025 and the Resolution of 8 September 2026 on the institutional accreditation of higher education centres.

The approved updates introduce a number of technical and procedural adjustments aimed at strengthening consistency across ACPUA’s programmes and ensuring closer alignment with the current regulatory framework. These modifications do not introduce new substantive requirements for universities. Instead, they seek to improve the clarity, consistency and practical application of ACPUA’s evaluation procedures.

The updated versions of the programmes and protocols are available in the corresponding section of the ACPUA website.
