ACPUA Board of Directors meeting

The first Board of Directors of the year was held today with 100% of its members in attendance.

At this meeting, several issues of interest to the different stakeholders represented on the Board were discussed, and the following agreements were unanimously adopted (among others):

-Ratification of the ACPUA Budget belonging to 2024.

-ACPUA's Annual Report 2023.

-Activity Plan for 2024.

-Approval of the report on the payroll for the Agency's own staff.

 

Likewise, and within the agenda, the Director of ACPUA proposed to the Regional Minister of Education, Science and Universities, President of the Governing Board, the new member of the Committee of Experts. From now on, the Agency will count on Professor of Political Science Rogelio Alonso Pascual, who has accepted to be part of the Committee of Experts, as well as to represent it in the ACPUA Board of Directors together with Fiona Crozier.

Rogelio Alonso Pascual, among other merits, is Non-Excutive Commissioner of the Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery in the United Kingdom, has been a member of the Editorial Board of the European Commission's Centre of Excellence on Radicalisation; member of the European Commission's Expert Group on Violent Radicalisation; advisor to the Minister of the Interior of the Government of Spain, between January and July 2012; and visiting professor at NATO Defense College in Rome, among other academic institutions. He is a member of the Editorial Board of international academic journals such as Terrorism and Political Violence, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism -both included in the international ranking of the Journal Citation Report (JCR)-, and Democracy and Security, as well as evaluator of various academic publications of impact. Between 1994 and 2004 he was a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Ulster, Belfast, and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Irish Studies and the Institute of Governance, Public Policy and Social Research, both at Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

On the other hand, the Board of Directors has welcomed two new members to its composition: Silvia Carrascal Domínguez as Rector of the San Jorge University as well as Ana Rosa Soria representing the SOMOS Zaragoza University trade union.

We would like to thank Berta Sáez Gutiérrez, former Rector of San Jorge University, for her valuable contribution during the last years, as well as Ana Gargallo Castel representing CCOO since January 2020.
